Enjoy an evening with Jewell Parker Rhodes, award-winning educator and author for both youth and adults, as she discusses her latest children's book.
Her new middle grade novel, Will's Race for Home, is a thrilling adventure story about a son and his father who set out to win land during the Oklahoma Land Rush–if they can survive the journey.
Jewell Parker Rhodes is a New York Times bestselling author of several books for youth, including Ghost Boys; Black Brother, Black Brother; Paradise on Fire; and Treasure Island: Runaway Gold. She is the recipient of many distinguished awards and honors, including the Coretta Scott King Author Honor, the Green Earth Book Award, an NAACP Image Award nomination, the Jane Addams Children’s Book Award, and the Octavia E. Butler Award.

Books will be available for purchase from The Book Stall, and the author will sign books after her talk.
