Can't find an item?
Can't find something in our catalog? We can try to get it from another library or add it to our collection.
SEARCH LINKIN
Your library card gives you access to LINKin, a lending partnership with local libraries. Here’s how it works:
- If you’re in our catalog, click “Search other resources” and then “Search partner libraries” to get to LINKin.
- You also can search the LINKin catalog directly.
- Found what you’re looking for? Click “Request it.” Select Skokie as your home library and enter your name and card number. (Please note that new items can’t be requested via LINKin.)
- We’ll let you know when the item is ready for pick-up. Items usually arrive in Skokie within 5 business days.

New Releases
If you’re a Skokie cardholder hunting for a new release, fill out our purchase suggestion form. We can't consider suggestions for an item more than 3 months before its release date.
Older Items
For items older than a year, make an interlibrary loan request. You can have 5 open interlibrary loan requests/loans at a time.
We will not be able to process interlibrary loan requests from 12/21/24-12/29/24. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Other options
Register your Skokie library card at other suburban public libraries that use the CCS catalog (such as Morton Grove, Lincolnwood, Niles, Wilmette, and Evanston) for reciprocal borrowing privileges at those locations.
Register your Skokie library card at any Chicago Public Library branch for reciprocal borrowing privileges at those locations.
You can also look at holdings of libraries further afield with WorldCat.org.
Request Digital Articles
If you can’t find an article using our online resources, we may be able to borrow a digital copy (PDF) from another library. We cannot request physical journals at this time.
