It’s Summer–Look for the Book Bike

An adult and a child are browsing books on the book bike

The book bike brings the joy of reading out into the community, offering free books for everyone to keep and enjoy.

You can find the book bike throughout the summer at local parks, on village bike paths, and at some community events. While our schedule depends on the weather, the bike is out most weekdays and some weekends in the morning or afternoon.

When you spot the book bike, stop and say hello! We’d love to have a conversation with you and hear your thoughts about the library, the community, and things you’re passionate about. When visiting the book bike, you can:

  • Browse and take home books. We have books for all ages. From picture books to cookbooks, there could be a book for you. And yes, you get to keep the books.
  • Collect unique bookmarks. See if you can collect all of our special bookmarks this season.
  • Play games. The bike always has a box of chalk and a game to play.
  • Ask questions about the library. We are happy to show you new library services and have plenty of handouts. Through the end of July, the bike will also have summer reading booklets and activity sheets in case you haven’t had the chance to pick them up yet.

The book bike has something for everyone. We hope to see you out there!
